For the last 1 month, I am trying to learn and become a copy-writer. I was really thinking that it would be something very easy to do.
The problem which always comes in between is…
The Shiny object syndrome…
I read a book in the between and then I try to read another before completing the last one thinking it would be a breakthrough. This keeps on continuing till I have 7 unread books… Some of which are really great. Including the breakthrough advertising Eugene Schwartz. I am thinking to complete all the books and write 2000-3000 word summary from all of the books including the name of the chapters which will be almost like a mini ebook.
The main reason for doing this is just to write 500 words a day.
It sounds very small but if you think about it, its alottt. Believe me. Dude, When you think you will write about the stuff… You get 19876348 ideas but when you actually site to write them… They are not more than 2 ideas which are not even original. Whereas I am not even looking to produce original ideas, I am just using my observation and getting things out what I red or understood today. Not for others, But just for my future reference. Ofc, I don’t have very cool grammar while writing. I need to take care for that too.
When you start writing it takes a lot of time to write a small paragraph but when you read it… You feel like phuuu… Only this much. Well taking a challenge like I am doing which is 500 words a day challenge will force you to stretch your content that will make it boring. On the other hand, people create such content because search engine loves them but the problem is does real human loves them? Do they? No, they don’t.
When you read a book… Not for your college test but for your education. Self-education. You don’t want a book to be filled with a lot of papers which gives information you have read 4000 times but you are just searching for 1 or 2 nuggets from that book.
The market for books is decreasing every day. The market has shrunk so much because the group of people who read a book for pleasure have reduced so much. This does nothing but just increase the information books in the market with shiny titles so it can be fed to as much audience as possible which leaves a bad impression for book market for the new readers and then they get shifted to something like information courses.
Not only that but I am also thinking to post some financial stuff which will be in simple stuff and easy to digest by common people who don’t have any idea about finance.
I am also on the way to learn some stuff from Ray Dalio who is the author of principals and one of the biggest hedge funds in the world.
Hope to see you tomorrow.
